FTP Accounts
Discover more about FTP accounts and about FTP in general - what they are and when you will need them.
FTP, which is short for File Transfer Protocol, is one of the most famous ways to send web files between a computer and a web server. With FTP software like FileZilla, you can set up a connection to your website hosting account and drag ‘n’ drop files or whole folders in both directions and the software will handle all the rest. There are a number of pluses of employing File Transfer Protocol, including the ability to restart a download/upload in case there’s some problem with the connection or the possibility to create different FTP accounts. Thanks to the latter option, you can create FTP users that can access only specific folders in your hosting account, but no other folders, email accounts or any other information, which makes it the perfect option especially if you need to give a web designer access, for instance. You can also use an FTP account with famous website building applications such as FrontPage or Dreamweaver and upload the websites that you’ve created directly from them, without having to make use of any 3rd-party software.

FTP Accounts in Shared Website Hosting
Our
shared website hosting plans will allow you to set up multiple FTP accounts with only several mouse clicks from the Hepsia hosting Control Panel and to specify what files and folders each account can connect to. There is no upper limit to the maximum number of accounts that you can create, so you will be able to have as many as you wish at any particular time. In case you don’t want to use a certain FTP account anymore or in case a web designer has completed their job and you don’t want them to access the website content any longer, you can simply remove that account. The FTP section of the Hepsia Control Panel will allow you to see all currently active accounts displayed in alphabetical order, along with various options, which you can access with one single mouse click. You will be able to change the password and the access path, to download an auto-configuration file, etc. We also have an elaborate Help library, which will help you manage your FTP accounts in case you experience any difficulty.

FTP Accounts in Semi-dedicated Hosting
When you host your sites in a
semi-dedicated server account, you will be able to create a different FTP account for each of them, since we have not limited this functionality with any of our plans. You can do this through the FTP section of our intuitive Hepsia hosting Control Panel where you can also view the complete list of all the FTP accounts that you’ve set up, along with the folder that each one of them can connect to. If necessary, you will be able to change the password for a certain FTP account or to update its access path with a few clicks of the mouse. You can also remove an account with no effort in case you don’t need it any longer – for instance, if you have hired a web developer who is finished with the site and you do not want them to access your files any longer. For the sake of convenience, we’ve made different educational video clips, which will help you administer your FTP accounts without efforts in case you have never used a website hosting package before.

FTP Accounts in VPS Web Hosting
With a
virtual private server from us, you will be provided with the chance to set up unlimited FTP accounts to access your website content. This is valid for all VPS plans, no matter the Control Panel that you have picked during the registration procedure – Hepsia, cPanel or DirectAdmin. Depending on your demands, you can have a different FTP account for every site or a number of FTP accounts with access to a specific folder – in case you’d like to permit different persons to connect to that folder using their own personal log-in credentials. Even if you have never used a hosting account before or if you’ve only had a shared one, you will not have any problems creating, removing or editing any FTP account on the machine, as everything’s done via a simple-to-work-with web-based interface and takes just a few clicks.
