Dot NAME Domains

Launched in 2001, the .NAME generic top-level domain extension is the only one meant for personal web pages only. These domain names can consist of personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other titles people are famous by. At the beginning, just 3rd-level registrations were allowed, so if you wished to book john.doe.name, you would have to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also allowed. Already taken 3rd-level domain names remained active.

You will have the chance to alter the WHOIS information, to park your domain, to create Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an already registered domain to our company if you acquire its EPP transfer key from the present domain provider and we will renew it once the transfer has been completed. There are no particular terms on who can purchase a .NAME domain, but in order to keep the idea behind its creation alive, the Registry organization may verify who the Registrant is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain, the registration can be challenged.
